Shohreh Karimian was born in 1984 in Tehran, Iran and grew up in Hanover, Germany. She studied Languages & Cultures of the Islamic World and English Studies at the University of Cologne, followed by Near and Middle Eastern Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.

In addition to her work experience in sales and marketing, Shohreh Karimian has focused on cultural journalism and university lectureship.

As a journalist she has worked for Deutsche Welle‘s platform Qantara.de.

Currently she is a lecturer at the University of Bonn.
